During a space where R&B feels two fist-pumps away from and identity crisis. Frank Ocean arrives as therapy. The New Orleans-bred singer/songwriter (born Christopher Breux) is one of the members of new hip-hop shock group Odd Future.
Ocean stunned listeners in February with his exceptional self-released mixtape, nostalgia, ULTRA-a balmy and earnest journal about the politics of love.
Ocean himself paints his mellow sound as "bluegrass swag" but the 23-year-old's unique vocals often come across as an amalgamate of Drake's moaned melancholy, The-Dream's slinky banter and Kanye West's 808's & Heartbreak sensibility.

In addition to his solo work the Def Jam signee has also penned records for bigwigs such as Brandy, John Legend, Justin Biebir, Beyonce (see the vulnerable single, Miss You from 4), and is one of only 2 artist featured on Jay-Z/Kanye West collabo "Watch the Throne". Now the quiet storm is currently prepping his mixtape for EP status with nostalgia, LITE up for sale on July 26.
