Throwbakk Tuesday Fashion: Reebok Back!!!

After a much long awaited wait, we are taking this one back to 1998 in this edition of Throwbakk Tuesdays showing love to Cash Money Records as they kind of set the bar for a lot of things in hip hop especially a sneaker trend. Since Swizz Beatz  just signed a deal with Reebok it was only right to show love to the forefathers. Soulja Ree’s were a trend set by the Hot Boys and many who listened followed suit growing up to buy the same sneakers that the Hot Boys rapped about which were Reebok Classics. Saying that they set the bar for a lot of things in hip hop is more or less talking about “Brian Baby” Williams being a strategic business man. He is the one that structured the Hot Boys of Cash Money to have a Reebok deal and that was the blue print for Hip Hop artists nowadays such as B.O.B. , Fabolous, 50 Cent, and Hova have all had Reebok sneaker deals. Lil Wayne sure has come along way but he really couldn’t have done it without the Hot Boys and also the business mindset of Baby.

New Visual Video Stimulation: 600 Benz - Wale Feat. Rick Ross & Jadakiss

WALE
(Its not pronounced as ‘whale”. Nor as ‘wolly’. Its “Wall-Lay”)

Wale was part of the new school of rappers to emerge within the last couple years. And even though Wale had one of the biggest superstars on his official single (Lady Gaga on “Chillin”), his freshman debut album failed to meet expectations. My take, he took too long to release it. But either way, its a new year and for Wale that meant a freshly inked deal with  Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group.

I admit I was not a big pre-MMG Wale fan but, based upon his latest recordings I am starting to add some more tracks to my Ipod and understand why Wale signing with Rozay was a good move. Check out his latest 600 Benz - Wale featuring Rick Ross & Jadakiss.
